Ian in Tacoma

My go-to second shooter is really fantastic. With such great weather here in western Washington recently, I knew I wanted to get out to Tacoma and take some pictures. Thankfully, Ian was down! I decided to go outside of my comfort zone on some of the pictures and try new things. Some things worked, some things didn’t. But isn’t that the whole idea behind practicing and trying new things?
For this shoot, Tacoma really was the perfect area. Usually I am more downtown, but we decided to hang out by the waterfront, from the Tacoma Glass Museum down to the 11th Street bridge. A lot of it is super urban feeling and just a little funky in places. The sculptures in front of the museum are always really cool when there is a lot of sunshine. And even as you walk down, the buildings around the apartments and the bridges are all basically made for doing urban pictures. During our time, I also got to spend some time in front of the camera (but more on that later). If you are looking for a place to do some portraits and don’t really want park or wilderness pictures, this is definitely one of my go-tos!
