Shoot and Share 2019

Every year, there is a photography contest called Shoot and Share. Photographers from all over the world submit up to 50 pictures each in a chance to win first place in 25 different categories, including The Bride, The Groom, The Wedding Party, Wedding Details, Styled Wedding, Travel/Landscape, etc. Needless to say, there are a lot of pictures entered! This year, 175,000 people from 160 countries entered 413,000 pictures! Once the submissions are closed, people from all walks of life go and vote on their favorites. Submission information is hidden and voters are given a choice of 4 pictures at a time to choose their favorite. It is anonymous until the end, where you can see who took your favorite pictures.
It is a really great tool to not only enjoy some really fantastic photography from everywhere, but also to learn what your favorite kind of photography might be. Because there are just so many different viewpoints, it is interesting to see what others bring to the table. There are shots and angles that others many others may never have thought of! Plus, there are a ton of pictures just simply pretty to look at. And sometimes it is surprising to see what makes it to the top. I highly encourage you to go to the link above and check out a few of the winners from this year!
And this year, I am very excited that I received awards for being in the top 30%, 20%, and 10% of a few categories! It is always interesting to see what comes from what I submit. Sometimes I have a picture I am really jazzed about and it doesn’t go beyond the first couple rounds. Other times I submit a picture for the heck of it and it goes way farther than I could have figured. Below are the pictures that made it in this year and received these honors.
