I am fortunate enough to have a family who loves to travel! And even more so, I have a husband who has immediate family in Europe. So it was with great pleasure that I got to travel to several locations in Europe with him and my parents! My parents had never been anywhere in Europe, so I loved getting to show them to places we had been before, as well as to places that were new for all of us. When I was in college, I had the wonderful opportunity to study in Prague, Czech Republic for four months. Since then, I have wanted to show my family around what I believe is the most beautiful city in Europe. Besides Prague, we also went to Germany (Regensburg, Munich, and Geilenkirchen), Austria (Salzburg), France (Paris), and England (London). A lot to pack into two weeks! Below are some of my favorite images from the trip, as well as some explanations for some.
Swans in front of the Charles Bridge
Sunset behind Prague and the Prague Castle
Prague Astronomical Clock and Church of Our Lady before Týn
Saint Nicholas Church, off of the Charles Bridge
The Prague Castle. Fun fact- the cathedral in the middle is not the castle! The long grey-ish buildings surrounding it are.
The ceiling of the Prague Castle Cathedral- St. Vitus Cathedral
Everyone on their cell phones to film the Astronomical Clock
Oktoberfest! This is actually in a building, not a tent. There are several around the grounds for the festival.
The band in the tent- we came in when they were playing a traditional Bavarian tune. We left when they started playing Elvis!
Oktoberfest is the largest folk’s fest in the world at 6 million visitors! There are lots of rides, games, and food, in addition to the beer halls.
Mondsee town square
The ceiling of the Collegiate Church of St Michael- Mondsee
A main shopping street in Salzburg
The ceiling of the Kollegienkirche in Salzburg
The view from the Salzburg Fortress- amazing!
Train Ride from Salzburg to Paris
Roses in front of Notre Dame Cathedral
The ceiling of Notre Dame cathedral
The Arc de Triomphe
The Eiffel Tower next to the River Seine
A view of Paris from the Eiffel Tower
There is no editing to this picture! It was really that stunning of a sunset.
The model used for the filming of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies. Want some scale of how amazing this is? Check out the people on the far right of the image!
St. James Palace in London- it was built for a wife of King Henry VIII!
