Nowell and Tara
It is not very often where you show up to help photograph a wedding and you have the same color hair as the bride! That was only the first of the small details that made Tara and Nowell’s wedding so awesome. Their colors were on point, they had Legos in their centerpieces and as tie clips and cuff links, and they had a giant Jenga set for the reception! Plus, it was in Portland, which made it even more different than past weddings I have shot. I had the honor of shooting alongside Mandi McDougall Photography, who was so much fun to be with.
Tara and Nowell’s venue was awesome as well. Castaway Portland had the perfect charm for their wedding. Thank goodness there was no rain and the sun even came out so that the courtyard area could be used! Their first look was held in the neighboring Versailles Garden and Pomarius Nursery. Both areas were stunning and were the perfect place for portraits. Beyond the venue, the catering was amazing as well. Crave Catering rocked some super yummy food and appetizers. The lumpia was my favorite! Tara’s hair and makeup was done by The Torres Experience, who also dyed Tara’s hair to the awesome mermaid colors it was.
Overall, I had a wonderful time with them and was glad to be a part of it- from Grandma having her very own mic drop moment to doing portraits when the sun came out in the evening. Congratulations to them both!
